Hawt On A Budget

Shopping fever? Limited on cash? Whether you need a formal gown for an impromptu social event or a white v-neck tee and destroyed jeans for a casual girl's night, there are affordable options. We all want to resemble celebrities without the huge price tag. (Dress to impress, but not go broke)

The first option is to visit your local discount store. Stores such as Marshall's, T J Maxx, Ross Dress for Less and Burlington's Coat Factory all have lots of goodies on sale or simply at rock bottom prices. I am the first to walk to any one of them and build a total look centered on one piece. (See below)

This $21 dollar pair of shoes from Forever 21 were the focal point of this style creation. Very simply recreated and for a very low price. Win/Win

Thrifting?!!!
Another approach to low end style genius is thrifting. (Don't Sleep) Thrift stores have some of the best brand clothing that aren't particularly sold anymore, but are easily styled. If you are a vintage look lover, thrifting shops are the place for you. Thrifting can also work in your favor if uniqueness means anything to you. Let's face it a girl hates to be copied. Here is a fall look that I reconstructed from a thrifted velvet piece. What do you guys think, eh?

What are you waiting for? Goooooooooo...shop

Define Style

What do you think of when you hear the word.....style? Is it only clothing and great shoes? Or is it accessorizing to the tee? To me, style is me. What do I mean? Style is whatever I want it to be. It is expression by my very own terms.

Give me a room filled with clothing, shoes, accessories and I will still only choose what best fits me. (Although, most often it is the most expensive of things, tuhh) It is not purposely done. My style is my style and though it is influenced by trends past and present, I still make my very own looks each time. See below.

Saucey, eh?

The sass of it, the edge of, the me I see when I see it. That, my dear, is style.
An identity. A look. That us all your own. If it's at all uncomfortable or forced, it is not YOUR style and thus will not flatter/become you.

I will be creating more looks soon, not to tell you how to dress, but to inspire you to pull from those looks and to add your own personal flare. Until then......be ok with you.

So Clichè: Passion For Fashion

Have you ever just had a passion for something or someone or somewhere?! A true passion that keeps you up at night, a "I must do this until I can't anymore", passion!! I didn't think I did. Then, I got dressed! Indeed.....my something is Fashion!!

It all started when I was a 19 year old airmen living in the depths of Mississippi. I had always been shy, quiet and to myself. Reserved, if you will. I didn't say much and had trouble expressing who I was. Until I met my dear friend, we'll just call her Mia for privacy's sake. For me, she embodied dressing one's self as a wordless introduction. I could control the way I looked and that made me feel enpowered in ways. Uniforms by day, whatever we wanted by night.

I was hooked....I've been hooked ever since.
